Hull Plate Bending and Forming
Shipyards must shape thick steel and alloy plates (up to 4 inches for submarines) into precise curves for hulls and pressure-resistant structures. Manual trial-and-error is time-consuming and labor-intensive.
Macrodyne’s high-tonnage presses (up to 2,000 tons) bend and form hull sections with programmed precision. Automation reduces labor requirements, speeds up fit-up, and ensures consistent curvature, which is critical for scaling submarine and surface ship production.
Bulkhead and Frame Forming
Warships and submarines require curved and reinforced bulkheads, frames, and domes, often with complex geometries. These must withstand both internal and external stresses.
Macrodyne’s 3,500-ton dishing presses and heavy forming systems produce large bulkheads, domes, and frames with accuracy. This ensures structural reliability while meeting naval safety and performance standards.
Straightening Welded Structures
